The launch follows an earlier short-range ballistic missile test on July 24, fired from the same location.

A US official familiar confirmed to CNN

 - Two short-range ballistic missiles being launched at 0506 and 0527 
- From Wonsan-Kalma area toward northeastern coast 
- Altitude: around 30km 
- Flying distance: around 250km
